It is an efficient application which gives you the best and fastest way to encode H. The latest version brings fast and efficient codecs to the AE render queue.
This video walks you through some of the highlights. This new add-on option is a proven, comprehensive solution for all major wire EDM machines. GibbsCAM 14 includes new U-axis turning support. U-axis turning allows you to program turning operations on a mill that would be difficult to do on a lathe, eliminating multiple part setups on different machines. GibbsCAM 14 expands rest milling capabilities to include 3D material only cutting, which calculates the leftover material not only between operations but also between different coordinate systems and even between milling and turning operations.
Why GibbsCAM? Single CAM software solution for any CNC machine Easy-to-use, customizable interface designed specifically for NC programming Proven, error-free library of post processors developed in-house Accurate, industry-leading machine simulation for even the most complex machines Multi-task machining MTM programming capabilities.
GibbsCAM overview video. What is GibbsCAM? What can you do with GibbsCAM? That changes the question. For instance; the Mazak Variaxis in most of its forms is a really good machine, but the VCA is junk. Appreciate the direction you are headed, and I think it's the right choice. Hwacheon makes good machines, but they aren't well represented in most US markets.
Personally, I wouldn't choose to be the first kid on the block to buy one. The same goes for a handful of Taiwanese offerings from brands like Hardinge. AFAIK there aren't a lot of deals to be had right now from major builders in that entry-level five axis market. I think the best pound-for-pound value currently is the Hermle C The Taiwanese Mikron specs out well, but I have heard a lot of grumblings about build quality and robustness - perhaps Empower knows better. The DMU50 used to be the best entry-level five axis IMHO, but at the current cost it is outshined by it's bigger brother, which while a good value is not a cheap machine.
Whatever you get - service and support are going to be absolutely critical, especially since it is your first five axis. Training is going to make or break your experience. Last edited: Jun 10, To be more specific, yes it can vary, and everyone has an opinion, but sometimes you get a little tidbit you didn't know.
Like I didn't know the VCA is junk. The true scenario is its just me and my 20 year old son in a small shop, I am trying get the business as large as possible without the need for other machinists, obviously this will involve, less setups, and touching the parts less.
Eventually I need to replace the lathe with something with a barfeeder obviously, but we currently only run 1 production part on the lathe, and it is a 1.
We don't do a lot of tight tolerance stuff, so less expensive machines means more machines bought quicker, with this idea I would say start buying Haas UMC's but after the last Haas I dont think I want to buy anymore, especially at the cost of 5 axis machines, still undecided here. I was thinking Doosan but was also referred to Hwacheon?
DOnt know anything about them, never heard of them. I am currently gathering pricing to feel this out further. Joined Oct 27, Location On Tour Size of work and complexity of detail is important because a lot of these cheaper machines, have a trunnion where the table was, and as such Z height issues. Joined Jun 18, Location Midwest. You got one lathe. A bar puller takes less space.
